Uplift — Posture Monitoring Device
In many offices, sedentary behaviour is increasing. Of great concern is poor posture, back pain and irreversible damage to the spine arising from sitting for too long in unergonomic positions. These issues have increased over the past 50 years and will continue to do so in the future, unless there is an intervention in the workspace. The idea is a posture monitoring hub that sits at the user’s desk, encouraging them to reduce slouching and sedentary time. It does this with a real-time view of the user’s posture along with useful prompts and advice.

Role
I began by looking into how the site is currently structured and facilitated card sorting sessions to find how users and internal team members group different types of information.
Concepts for the global navigation were tree tested using Lyssna, developed further into prototypes then tested with real users in order to understand how people around London relate to certain terminology and their mental models when given tasks to complete.
